For local authors Christine and Ethan Rose, the last few months have been extraordinary. After recently publishing the first book, Rowan of the Wood (www.rowanofthewood.com), these married authors have become an Austin sensation. Just in the past three months since its release, they have received much praise for their book including being named an award-winning finalist in the National Best Book 2008 Awards and nominee to Foreward Magazine’s Book of the Year. Most recently, they have just been named February’s Authors of the Month by Austin-area Barnes and Nobles.

Rowan of the Wood tells a story of a young boy named Cullen who discovers a magic wand buried deep in the redwood forest. Inside this wand is trapped the 1,400 year-old wizard Rowan. The boy is suddenly forced into an adult world of decisions when he finds himself in the middle of a fantastically twisted and dangerous love story between Rowan and Fiana, his bride from the past who has somehow survived time and become something evil.
The Roses are now taking their success on tour, complete in a head-turning RV-turned-Gypsy Caravan. Their Geekalicious Grand Book Tour (www.rowanofthewood.com/events.html) will be making its way from Austin to Florida in January, heading out west to New Mexico and Arizona in February, and exploring the entire Midwest over the summer.

Ethan, a general contractor, and Christine, a college English professor, met swing dancing in 1999 and married a year later. They have marvelous imaginations and work quite well together. They look forward to touring with their book in 2009 and writing the next in the 5-book series. To find out more about this dynamic author duo, visit http://www.christineandethanrose.com.
